Introduction      The electronic configuration of an atom is the numerical representation of the arrangement of electrons distributed in the orbitals of the atom. This determines the position of an element in the periodic table and in turn its chemical behaviour. It explains how the atoms are held together by the chemical bonds, and the peculiar trends which are observed in the rows and columns of the periodic table. In this lesson, we will discuss the  electronic configuration  of elements in the same periods and groups of the periodic table. Objectives Identify the bonding from electronic configuration. Illustrate the group number is the number of electrons in the outermost shell for the element in group I and group II. Explain the relation between number of electrons in the outermost shell and group number. Analyze the relation between electronic configuration and period number. Explore the different families of elements in the periodic table. Subject Mapping     https://youtu.be/un
